Well, our second Trixie’s All Fun Book Club meeting was even more fun than the first — thanks in large part to amazing homemade ice cream provided with love by our neighbors, the Little Red Bike Cafe. We were served a banana split, of all things, with a scoop of salted caramel (Umm, yes), vanilla, and the piece de resistance — cherry coconut with chocolate chunks (unbelievable!). I scream, you scream, we all scream for Little Red Bike Ice Cream, yaaaaaay!
We discussed Jennifer Weiner’s “Goodnight Nobody” among other things, including that feeling of being a fish out of water that the author evokes so well. We also laughed about our various husbands’ choice of attire and what it’s like to lose yourself in roles like “wife,” “mother,” and “partner.” We’re sure almost everyone has experienced that at one time or another. Next month we’ll meet on Thursday, 10/18 and we’ll be reading the Nicholas Sparks favorites “The Notebook” and “The Wedding” if we can get to them both. Mark your calendars!
In the salon, we bemoaned Wayne Newton’s surprising lack of dance talent in “Dancing With the Stars” and the fact that the judges were too starstruck to vote him off. You would think a guy who’s been entertaining for his whole life would have picked up a few moves, eh? Oh well, thank goodness he can sing! Danka Schoen, Wayne, baby.

Oh my god you have a blog. I love it! And I love seeing Wayne Newton’s mug on it! Speaking of Wayne Newton’s mug, by the look of that hair I’d say that’s a photo from the early 1970s. But his face looks exactly the same today. Even tighter. So here’s a beauty question: what kind of products do you think he uses to stay so “young” looking?!

Hmmm, Wayne Newton’s fountain of youth? I’m guessing it isn’t the lovely water feature in the courtyard of his Vegas home — “Casa de Shenendoah” — so it must involve lots of peptides & a close relationship with a good surgeon. But for those of us less medically inclined, there is always the wonderful experience of monthly facials at Trixie’s to help us age more gracefully!

I think Wayne’s smile is fixed into his facial structure. The blog is beautiful, you are beautiful. Happy Birthday, and Happy One Year!
